Overall Description
HealthCheck is a unique tool to drive attention and support to organizations and provide overall and detailed information to potential supporters. It is designed to create opportunities to all non-profit organizations regardless of size, geographic area, service sectors or years of service. In today’s competitive non-profit marketplace, it’s vital that community organizations leverage their assets and tools to generate an increasing supply of awareness and support (financial and voluntary).
NPcatalyst was founded to help organizations reach optimal potential by serving as the connector, or lead driver, between the organization and the greater community. In addition to services provided to non-profit organizations (i.e. fund development, board leadership) and corporations (i.e. strategic giving methods), our company features a tool with untapped potential. As a means of providing significant value to many organizations (and their supporters), the product is presented in two similar formats: Diagnosis and Solution. There are several differences the two, but t”Diagnosis” offers the performance analysis and charity rating, while “Solution” features promotion and five hours of personal, hands-on coaching in various areas of fund and board development.

Charity Rating
Organizations participating in the HealthCheck analysis will be scored on their performances within five different best practice indicators: Data & Efficiency, Governance, Finance & Fund Development, Human Resources, and Public Information, based on information provided by each organization. In addition, an “overall” score will be assigned, to signify current organizational strength.

The scoring is calculated based on answers to a number of questions in each area, as well as a review of the organization’s most recent Form990. Scores from each answer are factored into formulas, designed based on such factors as integrity, ethical standards, and key performance indicators. The ratings are allocated based on the following grid.
The information derived from the strength rating is especially helpful to both organizations and potential supporters. For the organization, it’s proof of strength as well as an indication of areas needing improvement. For the existing and potential donors, it’s an opportunity to provide a detailed “snapshot” of the organization, representing research information they have difficulty finding when they make their donation decisions.
Online Profile
Soon after the HealthCheck form is completed, an online profile will appear on the NPcatalyst website. The information featured on the profile will come directly from the form. Organizations participating in the analysis will also receive financial pie charts and ratings. The purpose is to present a virtual snapshot of the organization, in addition to an opportunity to make an immediate and direct connection. Organizations functioning without a website may use their profile as their homepage until a permanent solution is created.

Promotions
NPcatalyst is not a public relations agency, but we employ the tools and resources found at most PR firms. Our proficiency and large network connections with traditional and social media allows us to reach both specific and broad target audiences found in local and nationwide geographical areas. Promotion of participating organizations and their engagement opportunities (i.e. special events, giving campaigns, mission) will be conducted according to a scheduled format, providing the organization with the greatest impact.
Events
To help further its mission of driving leadership to community organizations, NPcatalyst will host and help coordinate events from time to time. These include volunteer matchmaking, board matching, and donor-to-charity linking events.
Coaching
Organizations will receive up to five (5) hours of coaching in the areas of fund development, board/leadership development and/or social media.
Best Practices
Calculating scores for each indicator is simply one part of the HealthCheck analysis. Far more important are the recommendations for improvement presented to the non-profit organization. Our team of experts, representing over 40 years of non-profit and corporate leadership, will provide possible solutions for improvement in each area.
