Organization Information
Mission: The
First Tee of Northern Nevada is a life skills program that provides youth with
the tools for success, both on & off the golf course. Youth not only learn a
healthy activity they can enjoy all their lives, they also learn how to set
& realize their goals, how to evaluate decisions and make good judgments,
& how improve their communication skills

Needs: The First Tee relies heavily on volunteers. In 2009,
volunteers provided over 600 hours of service. Opportunities are available to
serve as assistant coaches at golf course, help with our in-school outreach
program, assist with social media, help staff special events, help design and
build a donor database, marketing, and clerical services. A low golf handicap
is not required - just a sense of humor and ready smile. We provide all
training. All potential volunteers are required to complete a written
application and a criminal background screening.
