Comment: Our website not only provides information about our organization but also highlights animals up for adoption. It also gives us a great venue to promote upcoming events, make donations and register for events.

 

Organization Information

Mission: The SPCA of Northern Nevada was established in 1998 as Reno first no-kill animal shelter. We make a lifetime commitment to every animal that enters our facility. Our mission is to eliminate the practice of euthanizing adoptable pets, find homes for adoptable animals, and to educate the public regarding animal issues and responsible pet ownership.

Volunteer Needs: Dog bathing, brushing, socializing; Cat socializing and brushing; Adoption assistance; Transport of animals to special events; Kennel/Cage cleaning; Dog walking - special training required; Foster Care for kittens and puppies; Pet Photography; Clerical help; Computer work; Answering phones/general receptionist duties; Customer service - Greeting, assisting; potential adoptors; Computer IT support; Special events; Off site adoptions; Thrift Store; Building maintenance, etc.; Dishes - Dog and Cat bowls, etc.; Laundry

Comment: Usually for company groups or service clubs. Occasionally organized youth groups such as boy or girl scouts.
