Organization Information

Mission: Lahontan Audubon Society (LAS) is guided by our Mission Statement within three interrelated

elements, birding, conservation, and education: To preserve and improve the remaining habitat of birds and other wildlife, restore historical habitats, and educate the public, with emphasis on children, about our unique Nevada environments.

Volunteering

Seeking Board Members? Yes

Volunteer Needs: Recording Secretary and one trustee as well as a Chair for the Conservation Committee. We have an ongoing need for volunteers to help with our school field trips and classroom visits. We also use volunteers to assist in restoration projects and clean ups of areas.

We use volunteers to lead field trips for adults and children in the area. We use volunteers to help with the publication of our bimonthly news letter, the Pelican. We use volunteers to help with fund raising, this year our Avian Art and Vine Wine Tasting and Silent Auction.
