Mission: The
Committee to Aid Abused Women (CAAW), an Organization for Families, provides
free, confidential, bilingual services to families in Washoe County, Nevada, as
they seek to end the abuse in their lives. CAAW’s mission, Changing Lives
â€" Ending Family Violence, guides the work of the organization and unites
its endeavors.

Needs: 24-Hour Emergency Hotline
Answer the call and offer vital peer counseling to those in
crisis. Emergency hotline volunteers receive training in resources and
procedures, peer counseling, legal issues and shelter placement. TPO Office – Provide
needed assistance and support to those seeking legal protection. TPO office
volunteers receive training in legal issues, TPO procedures, peer counseling
and resources, and stand ready to give back to the community. Residential Services – Donate your time to
assist with crafts, educational and support groups or family outing. Board of
Directors and Committees – Your valuable professional input and contacts could
be needed to provide the inspiration and structure behind CAAW services as a
member of CAAW Board of Directors. Events – CAAW annual events include our
annual Hannah Humanitarian Awards and Phone-A-Thon fundraiser are great
opportunities to assist in ending violence in our community.

have several long term needs for buildings, etc.but our typical wish list for
everyday. All paper products (kleenex and printing paper); Cleaning supplies ; Baby
products/diapers; Office supplies; Food/coffee/juice/snacks; Bus passes; Gift certificates
to restaurants, gas stations, haircuts, massages,etc.
